Just received my offer as an administrative assistant for my local NHS hospital.
What is the induction process like as I don't really know what to expect.

Thanks 😊

I had been working there for 4 months before my official induction! First 3 days were just spent shadowing my line manager, then I was on my own. I’m not an admin assistant though, and had experience in a different field, so may be different for you. The official induction was a day spent in a lecture theatre listening to various health and safety talks and finance talks. I dropped off at one point!

Oh, and congratulations and good luck! Is it a ward you’re working on, or office?

In our trust the first week is spent doing induction (not all day) before starting properly in your department part way through the week (not sure how this bit works as I'm part time and work odd hours so didn't properly start until the next week). I work in admin and there was a lot of training in order to have access to various programs used. Then further training later on if you require more access as it is job specific.

Congratulations on the job and good luck with it.
