What’s Happening In Your House?

Sorry to do another of these but they give me a boost during lockdown & sometimes ideas for some changes in our family life. I had my first Covid jab today & wondering how I will feel over the next few days. DH was ok on the day but then felt like he was hungover & extremely tired. DD12 is up & down. She had a day off school on Friday as everything just got too much ( they only went back last Monday). I knew it was bad because she gave me a hug & she never does that 😢 I heard her in fits of laughter on her phone earlier but she’s reckoning she’s ill & can’t eat any tea. Trying to step back & not make too much of it. If she’s hungry enough, she’ll eat. DH & I are having a freezer/DIY tea. Trying to use up some stuff as the freezer is bursting at the seams. I will have Youngs Gastro Cheese & Leek Fish Bakes with petitpois. There’s a sticky toffee pudding in the fridge that’s been there ages & goes out of date today. Watching Corrie later & we are getting into “ The Queen’s Gambit” on Netflix. Very good. I need to research how much I Phone 6’s are selling for & maybe invest in a box as I can’t find mine. I should do my physio exercises.

Your tea sounds nice, fridge dinners are v often random and delicious
I’m back from work and will have quick tea, i batch cook so it’s chickpea curry
I’ve had 2 covid jags via work and absolutely no ill effects, nadda. So that’s good
Haven’t watched Corrie in years, literally years. Used to have a flat mate who liked it,so we’d watch together
I’ve remained doggedly faithful to eastenders.

Loved The Queens Gambit.

I'm sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of tea having a quiet moment waiting for DH to come back from his mum's. Dinner's ready to go on as soon as he's in.

Last two weeks of WFH then back to the office after Easter. Hurrah. I can't wait to see people.

Have been pretty cheerful overall but have hit a wall today. Before the "roadmap" speech I had come to terms with another year of no holidays. Then the bastards got our hopes up that our trip (rebooked from last year) just might happen and now hopes are dashed again and I wish they'd never said anything. This disappointment feels twice as bad as last year.

Sorry, I'm being self-indulgent when I know so many have real problems.

I think you're doing the right thing not battling with your DD. Mine had 2 separate days off sick with migraines last week, it's due to the stress and changes in routine and having to wear a mask all day too I think.

Today I've been doing some of my uni work and a dodgy role play exercise over zoom which I always find awkward. I cooked a Chinese curry and rice for tea, just done bath time for the little ones and getting them ready for bed.

I've found we've had a few highs and lows since going back to school. Very excited at first and then the tiredness must have hit and we had a few moody strops.

Dh is at work till midnight. Kids just had a picky tea and now on various devices.

I've just brought in the washing, got to make up ds's bed. Been to allotment today and also ironed.

Not much happening. Going to start reading the set text tonight for a course I'm starting in September.

Your tea does sound nice! Dh is cooking ours at the moment- chicken fajitas.

Planning on watching “Unforgotten” later tonight. But I want a soak in the Bath first.

Last week of work this week thank god as we break up on Friday - I’m a teaching assistant.

Dd is doing her A level homework in her room so I’m hiding in my bedroom on here, it’s the furthest room from the kitchen, I’m on a diet.

weegiemum · 22/03/2021 19:05

It's dh's day off today, so we're all at home. Teen dc had burgers on rolls with home made wedges, dh and I are on tuna pasta.

Dd2 is in her cesspit room, I'm eating in the kitchen and ds and dh are watching the new Justice League film which I have just been told lasts 4 hours!

We liked the Queens Gambit too.

Husband is listening to lots of students applying for a scholarship for an independent school sixth form place from Hong Kong. He’s got about twenty videos to watch.
I’m on here in between cooking supper.

We’re into Designated Survivor at the moment, but I also need to sort a few things for our daughters wedding in May.

I've just been harassed by the dog to clean her teeth.

I'm not sure she's that worried about them being done, she just wants the dried rabbits ear after

Mini SJT is alseep in my bed, the dogs asleep, the cat is doing her usual and glaring at me. My partner is going to be home from his run in a few minutes, when he gets back we’re going to play mariokart for a bit before bed.

Wildly exciting day here, housework this morning, pop to town to get some shopping, had the remains of the cauliflower cheese for dinner. Cut my hair, had a bath, read a bit of Saturday's paper, now in bed with our new mattress. ( bloody thick mattress, feels like I'm 10 foot up in the air!)
