Is there such a job as glamorous detective?

E.g. Gillian Anderson in The Fall?

I.e swanning about in expensive silk shirts and staying in fancy hotels and generally being a sexy detective?

Obviously there are detectives, and I'm sure some of them are sexy. But the lifestyle portrayed in The Fall just didn't seem hugely believable.

If however I am wrong I would love to know because I think I need a career change 😂

Hmm are you serious?

Light hearted, obviously. Of course I appreciate it was a drama..... but still, part of me hopes there are!

Yes - one who uncovers complex art frauds. You have to travel around but can be based in Switzerland with a Manhattan apartment. You might have to investigate Pierce Brosnan. HTH Grin

I’d leave the job and just take the workwear for my post covid, average office 9-5

Well if there is, DCI Stanhope hasn't got it.

I'm one. No it isnt sexy or glamorous nor would I wear anything remotely expensive to work judging by some of the houses I need to go in

I know you're joking, but a one-time friend of mine's wife is a detective, and she is incredibly glamorous. The friend had a career in fashion for a while and worked at Vogue; they both look extremely chic whenever we see them. Less glamorously, the last time I saw ex-friend she stayed overnight at ours, and during the small hours she got absolutely blind drunk on whatever booze was lying around, made an absolute shit-tip of our downstairs, tried to use discarded coffee grounds to make herself instant coffee (!), and passed out.

So ... I guess there's downsides to glamour?
