Feeling sorry myself. I was blue lighted to resus last night with a suspected stroke. I am day 12 of a headache and my face dropped last night and I started to slur.

My CT was clear for a bleed last night. They was talking about a MRI and seeing a neurologist. This morning a Dr came round but I dont know what the plan is now. The Dr mentioned a lumber puncture but then discounted it.

I'm not sure what's going on now. The nurse thinks I'm waiting for a lumber puncture that i dont think i need.

Oh that sounds awful! I hope you're okay. You're in good hands there. Flowers

Sorry to hear that. Hope you get to find out what's happening soon and that you make a swift recovery. Flowers

Hospital wards can be outrageous - all that talk about 'person centred care' and consent and discussion but they still leave you imprisoned with no information.

Can you ask if you are safe to be discharged? and if not why not? And be slightly insistent/arsey about it? What tests or procedures do they have planned that can only be performed in the hospital? Can you go home while you are waiting for those to be arranged?

Also OP, be prepared for the fact that you won’t be allowed to drive for 4 weeks even if a stroke is discounted. This happened to my DH.

I am definitely having a lumber puncture before I get discharged. The Dr said it wasnt necessary today and only the ward dr has looked at me so I'm not going likely for lumber puncture on a whim.

I dont think they are that worried as I have had nurses doing obs since 9am.

I have a interview on Wednesday for a job I was looking forward to 😭
