Sending money via PayPal?

I sent a relative birthday money this morning PayPal (approx 10am) and although I had PayPal confirmation via email the money has not gone from my account?

I can't ask relative as I don't want to spoil the surprise but it's usually fairly instant. I'm not sure what to do now

How would you approach this...? Text relative and ask if they've received an email? They'd get email confirmation if it was in their account.

I can't understand why it's gone through but it hasn't.

I have had problems this week with bank account flaw but I thought this was sorted. And PayPal email says it's done.

It's only £100 but I have tons of bills to pay, it's going to be a tight month, I don't want to send it twice.

If you have a bank card and a bank account linked to PayPal, sometimes it takes the payment from the account (as a direct debit) rather than from the card as an instant payment. I’ve bought a few things like this accidentally where it takes around a week for the payment to be taken, but as far as the retailer is concerned payment has been made. Could this have happened? Not sure how it would impact it being received at the other end though.
