What size is this in adult female sizes?

These jeans I bought off EBay - says waist 32, length 28

My waist is 29 and I can't get them passed my knee ...

32 inch waist is size 14 i think xx

When I was young we didn't have women's fit jeans and a men's 32 inch waist was the equivalent of a size 14.
BUT back then a 14 was 26 inch waist, 38 inch hips.

Depends what shape both you and the jeans are. If you're straight up and down, maybe a 12. If you're curvy, no chance. I'm a 10 in fitted dresses with a 25 waist, but can't get jeans up below 38 because I'm ample of arse.

Unfortunately as women's sizes don't actually have a standard size, so you can only guess at the answer.

I think a very fitted 14 makes sense

Are they not stretchy? Stretchy jeans give me a totally false idea of my size. I can wear a size 6 in stretchy jeans, but I’m at least a 10 in non-stretchy ones.

Twenty 8 Twelve is Sienna Miller’s long defunct fashion label. Wouldn’t be surprised if it runs really small.

If they have a waist size in the label, then surely they're men's? Could account for the narrowness of hip.
Unusual to have women's sizes like that, and hip size is probably more important than waist in women's... certainly for me with my fat arse.

Not necessarily, some jeans manufacturers use European clothes size + leg length.

Did you measure them with a tape measure? Are they roughly 32 inches allowing for shrinkage?

I've not measured them - they are definitely women's

Ugh. I’ve had similar. Trousers with the right size waist but had no hips to them. If they had gone over my generous thighs and hips they would have fitted around the waist! Very annoying.
