I've posted about this on another thread, but I wondered how many other people were able to get married just as lockdown began. I remember being in tears on the Friday night as it was announced that all social venues would be closed from 10pm that day.
But after some frantic phone calls, our guest list was cut to just 8, as our wonderful venue and registrars agreed to go ahead with just a very small ceremony. A staff member FaceTimed my mum and sister, so they could be with us.
Our florist had already made all the arrangements, so we gave them to the staff, registrars and photographer, who were delighted with their free Mother's Day bouquets and the venue gave us free champagne and cooked our meals as a takeaway.
It was a lovely, funny and sad day, and I treasure the memories.
But I wonder how many others were able to squeeze in their wedding just In time, how many have been able to get married in the past year, and how many are still waiting...?
