Vivid dreams

Is there a way to prevent them? The last week I've woken up around 3am after having very very vivid dreams and then been able to get back to sleep.

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and lost my mum unexpectedly to sudden cardiac arrest 3 weeks ago. Not sure which of these is the cause of my dreams/sleep or maybe a combination.
Any suggestions to prevent the crazy crazy dreams or help to forget about them and get back to sleep if they occur? I'm getting desperate after a week of 4-5 hours sleep

I don't think you can prevent them. DH has had them for years, but yours may be hormone related or you may be sleeping more lightly if baby is moving. Think of a scenario that relaxed you, memory of a beach holiday etc., so you can replay it if you wake up to help get back to sleep. Avoid thinking about the dream. Also speak to your GP about bereavement counselling as you've had some big life changes in top of each other.

Calm app, sleep stories give your brain something nice to think about it lots of mindfulness guided meditation, help you rest and not stress... I could never guide my self to meditate on my own but guided meditations.. great!
