Does anyone have collar bone/front of shoulder tattoos?

I'm considering having this done, but my confidence has been hit a bit since having one down my spine recently, it was absolute agony and I sobbed! Cringe.

I've had arm and leg tattoos and didn't think they were particularly painful, but I'm struggling to get up the courage again now after finding my back so bad.

How bad is collard bone/front of shoulder?

I'd imagine it would hurt quite a bit since it's a bony area. I have one on my hip which hurt the most out of all mine.

Placemarking as I'm also considering collarbone for my next one! Two on arms and one on leg, leg one was 3 hours and it was fine, collarbone would of course be smaller so I'm hoping I'd be fine with it...

I have a collarbone one it’s quite small one line type thing and didn’t hurt at all but did make me feel funny and the vibrations in my lower rib on the opposite side was weird.

Can anyone say how bad in comparison to spine? I had 12 hours on my back and thought I was going to die.

I have one. It was my first tattoo and barely hurt.
I would describe it as a burning sensation.

I have one on either side and didn't hurt in the slightest (I have 23 tattoos and these are what I call '1 on the pain scale' tattoos) 👍

Excellent! Are they on the actual collarbone or more towards the front shoulder?

I've got one either side, medium size ones. Barely hurt at all - but I've got no others to compare it too!

The top is above an inch below my collarbone.

You could try ametop if the tattooist is ok with it
I struggled with my spine and she ended up stopping, covering me in bactine and cling film and having a 15 min break for it to numb me a bit which helped

Or the back on the calf, just above the ankle?

Where are they on the pain scale?

Back of the calf is my least painful tattoo so far, barely felt any pain. It starts to get a bit spicy when they get near the ankle bones though.

See, He put bactine on my back when I started struggling, and I found it more painful!! It was great for about 2 minutes but after that I felt more pain than before the bactine.

I have my collar bones tattooed and it didn’t hurt at all. Back was horrific so like you I was scared but it honestly was ok.

I am a massive pain wimp - as in one of those really bloody annoying moany people who doesn’t shut up when they’ve got a headache. Had my first tattoo on my inner upper arm and was fully expecting to cry and have to stop halfway through because I’m such a baby But it was absolutely fine! And I have skinny bony arms so at points I could feel the vibrating in the bone but it was completely bearable.

I barely felt my inner upper arm. The absolute worst for me was the top of my foot, it took nearly 2 hours and was EXCRUCIATING.

My ankle was fine, barely felt it

Yes I agree! My foot was painful

I do - a fine line of flowers along my left collarbone. I didn't think it hurt much at all, but I have a high tolerance for pain. I actually thought the flowers I have around my left leg hurt more, but only for the calf bit.
