Can you help me remember an obscure dance song

I am trying to remember this song. I think it's from 1990s but I'm not 100% sure. I think I bought the CD single so it was before the time of routinely just downloading stuff.
Not a well known artist or huge hit, something a bit more obscure.
Male singer.
Possibly one word for both the artist and the song but unsure.
Maybe a one hit wonder.
Sort of atmospheric club genre. I think it's in the same sort of genre as
Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me
but definitely not as well known
