Was give a pope Francis care sticker as a secret Santa present a few years ago. I loved it!! Have a new one to replace it with, but the old one is stuck fast. What can I remove it with?

This is a gem of a thread!
I tried sticky stuff on my son’s wardrobe stickers and was disappointed. It seemed to work and then this fuzzy patch of dust would accumulate where the sticker had been.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/03/2021 16:10

I'm wondering if this might be a Turin shroud situation?

ilikebungalows · 20/03/2021 16:11

Tell him to stop being a CF and buy his own fucking Popemobile.

A Novena should do the trick for you, perhaps dedicated to "For Impossible Tasks"!

Halo Halo Halo

I learnt this trick a few weeks ago and am delighted to share it: WD40

whenwewereveryyoung · 20/03/2021 16:30

Ah, pp beat me to it.

TheLongRider · 20/03/2021 16:30

Ah now, next time I'm in Knock I'll get you a load of stickers. You need a Padre Pio and possibly a Sacred Heart sticker too.

This was it originally. It's now faded.

This thread is amazing.

@MrsMoastyToasty excellent response.

Sammiches101 · 20/03/2021 16:51

This thread and the answers have made my day
OP, I imagined the sticker to be maybe the size of an old tax disc, your pic is brilliant

EchidnaKidney · 20/03/2021 16:51

It just gets better! Check out that sticker!! Why not have one each side?

Craftycorvid · 20/03/2021 16:52

Get Father Jack on the other window? 😂

Blueberries0112 · 20/03/2021 16:57

Hairdryer use hairdryer while you pull the sticker off. Do a small test first to make sure it doesn’t damage anything.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/03/2021 17:06

@TheLongRider I usually go to the capital of Tat, Lourdes every year!

Toddlerteaplease · 20/03/2021 17:06

@EchidnaKidney I could have the pope on one side and the Queen on the other. But that might be a bit much.

I'm reading this out to DH and we're both roaring, that pic of the sticker has just put the icing on the cake for us Grin

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 20/03/2021 17:09

I am glad to read that it has been resolved. I hope you have let your Archbishop friend know.

scaredsadandstuck · 20/03/2021 17:09

Amen to all this wonderful advice.

(Although bitterly disappointed this isn't a thread about a bizarre Pope car-occupation scenario as a result of some Vatican parking argument that had got out of hand. I was hoping for a diagram and everything.)

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 20/03/2021 17:11

Put a rainbow sticker next to him

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

EchidnaKidney · 20/03/2021 17:14

@Toddlerteaplease Yeah adding the queen on the other side might make you a traffic hazard. But you would be a mumsnet hero!
