My DH has been taken into hospital early this morning. He has had severe pain in his lower right abdomen since yesterday lunch time. No appetite (which is very unlike him) and he normally has a high pain threshold.

Last I heard he was on a painkilling drip and having a load of tests. They rushed him through and rushed me out Sad.
Not sure what is happening now as I couldn't go in with him and we are abroad (my language skills are not very good as yet!).

Lower right abdominal pain could be appendix which is painful but easy to sort. Is there a receptionist you could speak to who could get a nurse or doctor to come and explain what's happening?

That must be very scary. It's being taken seriously though, which is a good thing. He's getting treatment, scary though it is.

He's just been taken for a CT scan now. Bloods and urine tests are normal.

That's really frightening for you both. I hope he's ok. 💐

Appendix or possibly diverticulitis? A friend of ours had that over New Year and was in terrible pain - she was in hospital for about 4 days and had to have antibiotics etc.

I've not heard anything for 2 hours now. He isn't replying to my texts Sad.

I hope you hear something soon, and that it's easily fixable whatever it is. It's so, so hard when you can't be there to see what's going on.

Can you phone the hospital directly for an update? If you phone the switchboard (main number) they can transfer you to the ward he's on.
