We make up 52% of the population and pay our taxes like anyone else, so why aren’t public services working for us?

I’m an absolute amateur but I’m SICK of news about crimes against women not being taken seriously, poor charge rates and worse prosecution rates. The fact a policeman has killed a woman... and again another has assaulted a woman who had to appeal CPS to get her case heard (there was even cctv).

Does anyone have a background in criminal law/ government in any way??

Public services need to work for us. We pay our taxes, so show us how they are of value to us.

How do we push for reform? Can we have a list of changes?

We need a focused method of change and get the backing of as many people as possible.... a white paper with proposed changes... how?! Lots of good intentions but how do we effect change? I can’t see more women let down by their own public services.

Because the pushback from those in authority will be strong and sustained. Most of us are fed up and don't have the energy and everyone will tell us we have plenty of legal rights and to stfu and go away.

You are asking for a list of changes. Perhaps the first step would be for you to produce one.

You won't get the reform you seek from this government and the misogynist who leads it, and I have doubts about the so-called opposition, who in a way don't even recognise women.

Crime in general isn’t taken seriously enough.

People have their houses broken into and the police do nothing and as little is done about male on male violence as it is about male on female violence. I completely agree that our public services need to work for us, it that goes for all of us as people, because I don’t see anyone being served well by the police right now, men or women.
