Daily Disposable Contact Lenses

I know the question is likely to make me sound like a right whopper but here I go anyway!

Can I literally just use the numbers on my optician sheet to order daily disposable contact lenses? (I haven't ordered them for years and I did it via my optician when I did). If so does anyone recommend any in particular? Thanks!

As long as it is your prescription for contact lenses and not for your glasses - they are different.

We use Vision Direct.

Redskyyy · 19/03/2021 10:22

Yes. I order online from feel good contacts

mistermagpie · 19/03/2021 10:22

Yes if it's a current contact lense prescription. I use vision direct too.

The right answer is that you should have a contact lens consultation as your glasses prescription is not necessarily the same as your contact lenses.....
However I did what you’re suggesting for years and it was fine, but if you have an astigmatism then I’d certainly recommend having a contact lens consultation - I went to Asda and it only cost £15.
I order from visiondirect.co.uk and the delivery is always very quick, I go for Dailies AquaComfort plus and I really like them

I have used Vision Direct for years and they’re excellent.

You’ll need a contact lens fitting with your optician first as not all lenses are the same. It’s like buying shoes: three pairs may be all size 39, but one pair will feel more comfortable.

Another vote for visiondirect and the Dailies Aquacomfort Plus.

If you have a wee google you'll probably find a discount code off your first order.

Can't fault them or their customer service and they are so reasonably priced.

I use VisionDirect and I think have the ones that are second cheapest, not sure on the brand.

I did try out the cheapest ones a few years ago and gave Waldo a try but found with both lenses would frequently break while in my eyes which was slightly concerning

Brilliant! Thank you all for your recommendations! I've left a message with the optician to book another appointment as my old prescription might not be valid anymore!

Daysoft Silk. I've been wearing daily disposables for 25 years and these are the most comfortable I've ever used,

JustJustWhy · 04/04/2021 09:16

Well I finally got an appointment and a fitting. Contact lens vision isn't as sharp as my glasses. It seems that laser eye surgery flattened my corneas! The optician is going to see if she can find any alternatives but I'm so disappointed.

Oh, that's a shame, at least you found out before you ordered a load. Hopefully they cam find some that are better.
