Very trivial question about planter colours for someone is good at aesthetics of house exteriors

Choosing a large planter for the front of our house - it will have an evergreen in it.

We'll have slate grey window boxes with colourful flowers and then a kind of statement pot with an evergreen of some sort. We can get the pot in any RAL colour but I wonder if it's safest to stay kind of neutral. It's an early victorian / late Georgian townhouse, front of house is a greyish cream. The front door is dark red. I'm wonder about introducing another splash of colour with a red pot but think perhaps it might be too much. So maybe more slate grey? I am absolutely hopeless about visualising this stuff. Any thoughts much appreciated

I'd go for a pop of colour such as burnt orange, greeny blue, if the pot will have an evergreen in it.

I like the idea of burnt orange and indeed greeny blue but wondering how that will work with the red front door (which is about RAL 3027)?

But the alternative would be to go the same colour as the front door, which might look a bit corporate / matchy matchy

I'd probably stay with the slate grey, to make it more uniform
You can play around with the flowers /plants to change the look with little expense

I would go for a darker grey than your other pots, so the scheme is part of the same family, but adds a bit of depth. I have Pavilion Grey and Downpipe planters, which are definitely available in RAL equivalents.

A bright colour one to match your door would be brill

Too many dull colours around

Thanks for all your input, folks - much appreciated. I went with grey in the end - to make it about the plant rather than the pot at the front - but a brighter one for the garden itself.
