EO DWP work coach interview help please

I have an interview booked for Saturday and understand that I will be asked 6 questions for the 3 competencies. One of them I covered in the 500 word written pieces but am wondering if I can also use this in the interview or do I have to come up with another scenario
Thanks

Why would anyone working for the DWP be working on a Saturday?

LittleG69 · 19/03/2021 07:56

@amorousfrog DWP had a pay agreement a few years back that has meant Saturday working on a rota basis. HMRC agreed the same a couple of weeks ago

@Amorousfrog it’s a interview with pre recorded questions done online.

@Gatekeeper I used mine from my written example. I struggled with finding the last example, so thought why not... good luck!

I’ve had calls from my work coach on a Saturday. I assume it’s because they are inundated with new clients? They have been hiring for months now. Good luck OP - I applied but didn’t get to interview stage even though my work coach encouraged me and helped me a little!

@LittleG69 it’s not a live interview it’s pre recorded with the questions done online

@gatekeeper I have interviewed for HMRC many times so it will be a similar process. You can definitely use the same answer. My tip would be to have back ups in case the question is worded in such a way that you can't use it. I was once interviewed and had what I thought was a great answer but because the question at interview put a different spin on it, it was useless (mine was about a project I had successfully led but the question asked me about something that hadn't gone well so I had to think on my feet). Good luck and remember the STAR format and avoid any 'we' and concentrate on what you did

I worked for DWP before I retired . A few years ago , there was a new pay deal which included longer working days plus Saturday working . I have friends who still work there and there is a rota of staff working until 8.00pm and Saturdays.

THE INTERVIEW IS PRE RECORDED it’s not a live interview, the questions are pre recorded and the interview is done online. So it doesn’t matter if staff are working or not on Saturday...... 🤦🏼‍♀️

Make sure you give as much detailed answers as possible as that's why dh didn't get the job as apparently although he gave good answers, it just wasn't enough. Good luck opSmile

HMRC have always done weekends, depending on department. When I was working there 17 years ago we did Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis of two Saturdays (one 8 - 5 and one 11 - 8) and one Sunday (alternating 8-5 and 11-8) in every 8 week period. Around five or six years ago they dropped the Sundays but Saturdays remained. The new contract means some departments that didn't do Saturdays before will now be doing them, for other departments it means no change to existing arrangements.

Are they still looking for keywords being used?
