Anyone noticed family/friends more demanding this Easter?

I've been inundated with hints or requests for Easter.
I always do the children. And certain adults.

But it's all adults putting in requests now, too.

Lockdown Easter fever?

Normally, I'd not think too much about it. But we've been affected income wise and I get impression no one thinks about that, because I've never discussed it.

Our business, we will deal with it, is my approach.

But , suddenly, influx of hints, requests or just downright orders!

Not even a little bit. No one has even mentioned Easter yet.

Ask your sister why she's suddenly expecting you to buy her something and if she knows why other people are expecting this too.

Reply to them all "Looks great. I'd love one too."

Maybe it is lockdown and they just feel it's a light thing to say, to keep in contact, and they don't actually expect you to buy anything??

All chocolate requests. From adults. That's why I am bemused.

And,yes,it means posting them.

How strange to 'request' gifts from other people for Easter! We barely even acknowledge it - certainly can't be bothered with eggs or decorations. It's another ploy from shops and card companies to try to extract yet more money from people. Whoever had heard of an Easter tree 5 years ago??

It's just you. Don't do anything special on Easter. Don't know anyone who makes a thing of it either outside of enjoying the long weekend and Easter egg hunt for kids.

I’ve never bought an adult an Easter egg in my life and I haven’t received one since adulthood either so this is really weird.

Never heard of this. Requests for Easter gifts?? Do they write a list?! Cadbury egg at the top followed by a fluffy bunny???!!! Seems weird!
I do buy nieces and nephews an Easter egg. But there is no expectation. And certainly ‘no requests’ ..??!!

Easter egg for DH and I would only buy an egg for other adults if we were visiting them over Easter and it would be a cheapish one.

I would speak to your sister asking why everyone is now treating you as an online shop? Maybe you shared a post inadvertently or had your email hacked and people mistakenly think you have offered to send them out?

Somebody I vaguely know does Easter baskets for her children, two weeks time there will be an album of photos in FB of a house decorated indoors and out with Easter as the theme and multiple baskets full to the brim with stuff plus a stack of presents for each family member.

I read to the bottom of page 2 and could feel the life sapping out of me... is this a wind-up? who on earth buys other adults easter eggs, unless it's a significant other (and even then )

Nope, I haven't noticed that but every family is different thus the traditions differ, too. We don't do big gifts, usually it's just chocolates or small bunny plushies for the kids, etc. I also make semi-educational Easter slideshow for my nephews with questions and answers and they have fun watching it. Nothing big, really.

Eh? Surely grown ups can afford their own easter eggs?

Just ignore them.

If they get to the point of asking actual questions, text back "lol no"

I have never had one single adult in my family, ask for anything for Easter . They are adults - why would they get anything ? I'm very puzzled.

This. I buy DS an egg and other years we’ve done an egg hunt in the garden. His grandparents also buy him an egg. I’ve never bought an Easter egg for anyone over the age of about 12.

I only buy Easter eggs for my kids and myself. If I had a partner I'd buy for them but I would buy for other adults.

Most are expecting an online delivery by looks of it.

I've had 5 'sets' of unexpected suggestions, links etc from adults. None of whom were going to get anything other than a card.
Sister has reminded me her partner only likes dark chocolate. So, she's expecting something for him too.
I've not even mentioned Easter! I am currently 'doing' Lent, so definitely not been talking about chocolate!

I don't even buy DH anything at Easter. 🤷

I can ignore a couple of requests, but a few are more difficult for various reasons.

Can you do a stock reply of "Thank you for the link but as in previous years I am not buying adults anything for Easter. I will keep (company) in mind when it comes to Christmas/birthday"

Dm has asked what we’re getting the dc for Easter which is odd as she never got dsis and I anything other than an egg.

But the dc are getting an egg. A book and a new outfit from their grandma. So her choice.

We usually just do Sunday lunch.

I used to get DS an egg and a gift. We did an egg hunt one year. Nice big meal and that's it.

I still buy him an egg and I'd buy children something. If we are invited for lunch I'd take chocolates. But orders?!
