Melanoma??

I have a tiny mole on my finger I've just noticed. I say mole I'm not sure it's not a scab. It also looks fine when looking at the ABCDE criteria. The skin around it is slightly swollen but that's the only concrete thing that could cause concern. But everytime I look at it something about it makes me feel uneasy. Is it OK to see a GP on nothing more than a feeling for something that is at most 2mm across? Or have I gone completely crazy?

Yes you can ring them and ask if you can send a photo.
If possible in the meantime take a good quality photo on your phone, if possible in daylight.
Also if it disappears in the next week or two it was a scab Smile

You are not crazy. If your worried Go call a doctor. I had a new one on my finger appear in pregnancy 2mm and a freckle on my palm 1mm and eventually saw a doctor. It was fine but he said if I was ever concerned about a mole/freckle/Mark it is so important to go see him and not to think I was wasting his time. He basically said that I wasn’t a doctor and i wouldn’t be able to tell myself if it was anything or nothing. I was told to take a photo of it also and check it monthly. Never changed in a year.

Always get things like this checked. Also its a good idea take pictures over time so you can track any changes.

Always get checked, they will never think badly of you. I had a tiny scab on my back that wouldn't heal, I waited until I had something else I needed to see a gp for so I wasn't 'wasting' an appointment. It turned out to be a basal cell carcinoma and I now have a 5cm scar on my back to show for my delay.

The chances are its nothing but do go straight away. They tend to have nurse led clinics for these things now.

I have sent a photo to my GP. I feel crazy because of how tiny it is. And because to be honest it could just be a scab. But I do have a bad feeling I haven't had before about anything that is concerning me. I will feel very stupid if they say it's just a scab though.
