Please can someone tell me what they’d do in my situation.
I had a coil fitted on 1/3, and I posted on here at the time that it was a pretty bloody and painful experience. Since then I’ve never stopped bleeding, although after the first few days it wasn’t so much. Then I had my ‘period’ if that is what it was, which started a week ago and culminated in my passing a white squishy mass just longer than my thumb (but not quite as thick) this was 0800 this morning. Cramping stopped, I went to work as this happened 5 minutes before I had to leave and thought wtf a massive bit of womb lining or something? Did poke about for a coil in the mass and found nothing.
Anyway about 10am start feeling sore and whoozy, got told to go home, before I left I phoned the secretary of the gynaecologist who put in the coil and she left a message with her and told me she’d get back to me ASAP. I spoke with local nhs sexual health clinic for advice for me. They told me I couldn’t see them because I had the IUD fitted privately (which I had to do because of covid they aren’t seeing anyone unless it’s for emergency contraception and my periods are too heavy for me to wait a year for a nhs referral).
Got home phoned back the secretary who says gynaecologist can only see me Monday at earliest but to see a gp beforehand, as by now I’ve got home and can’t feel strings anymore.
Phoned gp, shuts for the day at 12 it’s now 1230. Phone 111 as per GP answerphone, 111 say I need a to see a GP but cant refer me until 4pm but she thinks I shouldn’t be waiting that long, as my GP is not on list of surgeries they cover and to try my GP again. No one answers, try 111 again, get a phone appointment with local urgent treatment centre / ooh GP triage team for 1730 (this is situated at A&E so same people I’d see if I went to A&E). On the phone I get told because I don’t have a temperature they won’t see me and to try the GP in the morning or wait for my gynaecologist on Monday.
I am feeling like I’ve been hit in stomach, it’s swollen feeling with occasional stabbing pains and flutterings, have been advised not to take ibuprofen or other anti inflammatory meds only paracetamol. They told me it wasn’t womb lining it was most likely just some mucus. I’ve been told that if I get a temperature to phone 111 again.
In morning I will try my GP again for an appointment, but more chance of winning the lottery.
I absolutely scared of people poking about my vagina especially male Doctors, and I really do not fancy waiting for hours down at the hospital to see someone if they’re going to be rude and as dismissive as the Triage woman on the phone. I can’t even take DH with because of sodding Covid.
Am now streaking red blood in sort of clear liquid but it doesn’t smell. Pain is bearable
But noticeable and definitely not period pain and worse if I lie on my side.
I have no sense of perspective on my own health, I nearly died because I begged my DH not to phone 999 once because I thought he was over reacting when I was having an asthma attack.
The triage woman really made me feel like I was an idiot but somethings not right and not sure if waiting until Monday is reasonable? Will try GP in the morning, but what would you guys do if they have no space to see me?
