I've always done a 'big job'...long hours, very stressful.
I've recently taken a role which is less than half my previous salary so that I can have a life outside of work and not be stressed.
At my new place everyone switches off at 5pm and there's zero pressure to do extra work.
I've found myself volunteering for a million things on top of the core role and am struggling to switch off at the end of the day (and I'm only in week 3).
When I say 'struggling to switch off' - I mean I want to carry on working and do all the things even though the whole bloody point was to be able to switch off.
Then I'm left with not enough energy to cook from scratch, do hobbies and all the stuff I'd planned (in my head).
Does anyone know what I mean?
I know it sounds like a weird question but how do people just switch off at 5pm?
