£10/hour?

SquirtleSquad · 18/03/2021 20:53

£10ph is pretty standard, that's what the women at our sons nursery always charged.

QueenOfLabradors · 18/03/2021 20:53

Not less than £5 per hour, food and snacks, and safe transport home. This is Ruralshire. More if you're in up that London Place.

Cheesypea · 18/03/2021 20:55

In London. 10-12 ph.
Don't sell yourself short.

Where I live, for a teenager without your skills I'd pay £7, so a bit more for an older person with your qualifications?
But I suspect it massively depends what part of the country you live in; eg Muswell Hill is going to be a different kettle of fish from Middlesbrough.
I also think it's a very different job to babysit / supervise wide awake children than it is to sit and watch TV while a child sleeps.

£10+ would be more than reasonable, £8.91 is 23+ minimum wage from 1st April and I'd expect babysitting to be 'unsocial hours' so upping it a bit say after 10pm wouldn't be unreasonable.
I'd expect to pay a teenager £5\hr plus snacks, not a trained adult!

Thanks I’m thinking 8 pounds an hour as I wouldn’t have to travel seems reasonable

I'd stagger my rate slightly in evenings . Make it cheaper after a few hours so more likely to stay out longer...
