Anyone familiar with the area around Kew Bridge

If the progress of gradually coming out of lockdown goes vaguely as planned or without too much delay from planned dates, I will hopefully be able to meet up with my sister and her family when it is legal for 2 households to meet outdoors. A good half-way point for us to meet up and have a day out will be Kew Gardens (assuming it is open) and i want to find a nearby restaurant or gastropub not too far from Kew Bridge that has outdoor seating and will take bookings for having an outdoor meal. However I haven't been able to find out from Google searches which of the dozens of cafes pubs and restaurants in the area have outdoor seating. Can anyone who knows the area advise?

I don't know round there well, but the Express Tavern (just north of Kew Bridge, close to railway station) definitely has loads of outdoors tables.

The Express Tavern has a massive beer garden. Have only been there for a drink but they do serve food. It's a lovely pub

I've not eaten there either, but from what I saw of other people's, it's good pub grub, rather than gastropub

I'm pretty sure that there are restaurants with outdoors terraces in the piazza type place on your left once you cross the bridge heading north. But I don't know the names!!

The Botanist on the Green is really nice

You want The Greyhound on Kew Green.

Perfect halfway point between the station and the Kew Gardens.

It’s about 8 mins walk from the station. They have outdoor seating and also a back way into a playground (not part of the pub). The food is very good and just generally a lovely spot.

About another 10/12 mins walk from there to Kew Gardens. Highly recommend.

Brilliant thank you all!

By the way Kew Gardens is open but at the moment you have to book time slots in advance on their website.. sometimes need to book a couple of weeks ahead, but I realise that may change .
