Foods/tastes/smells that reignite memories

Went into M&S today and got those, they are absolutely delicious but they immediately reminded me of a brand of chocolate egg that my Nan used to get me when I was a child. It was a white chcolate kinder surprise type egg that had plastic sea creatures inside. They tasted exactly the same as these and it was a really lovely memory for me.

Any foods/smells/tastes take you back to a certain time?

The smell of Imperial Leather soap reminds me of my grandmas kitchen.

There is a smell of summer that takes me right back to being 12 and walking to the park with my friends.

I bought peach juice recently and it brought me right back to holidays in Mallorca which is the only place we used to have it.

Anais anais reminds me of my college years.

Frying onions brings me back to my mum's kitchen.

There's a certain type of soap whose name escapes me, but smells identical to the one I used a lot when DS was born.

One whiff and I'm a frazzled new mum again

When I still lived at home with DM & DF my favourite thing in the whole world was coming home from work in winter so it was always dark and freezing, opening the front door and the smell of DM’s meat and potato pie bubbling away in the oven.

Nobody made meat and potato pie like my lovely DM, it was amazing. I try and make it now and it’s not a patch on hers!
