I have both near me. Have popped in both for a few bits before but want to try one for a full weeks shop.... so which is best for this please?
Usual stuff.... meat, fruit/veg, snacks, bread.
Do either of them sell branded stuff like Heinz etc?
I dont drive so will only go to one... can't do a bit of both Smile

Lidl has more branded stuff and also a fresh bakery.

But do one this week and one next week and see what suits you best as you'll get a range of opinions.

Assuming you shop for food regularly, there's nothing to stop you mixing it up week to week and shopping at a range of supermarkets, which is a good way to save money and/or get the best choice of food as you can just buy a few week's worth of what's cheapest or you like best from each particular store so makes a lot more sense than buying the same things from the same shop every week.

Definitely alternate between the two if you can. They both have some branded items but those tend to be in the offer aisles rather than permanent stock.

If I had to choose one it would probably be Aldi as I'm addicted to their brioche loaf. Aldi's chocolate and pizzas are better too (life's staples of course!)

I am addicted to Aldis chocolate... that's all I have been popping in there for!
