Yesterday evening I had an Amazon delivery.
The last thing I ordered had already arrived a week before and I haven't ordered from any online store since.
But this parcel was addressed to me and had the correct address and house number so I opened it.
The item inside was bizarre and after a short while I felt it was offensive to me for my own personal reasons. (Don't want to say as people I've told might be reading this, but it's nothing dramatic or rude)
I texted my OH to ask if he had ordered this for himself or for me but he said no. I have access to my online banking and his and no Amazon payment had gone out. I also checked my orders on my account and the last thing was the thing I ordered myself.
Over the course of the evening I've been trying to figure out who could have sent it and what their reason was for it.
There was no clue on the box or inside where it has come from.
I rang Amazon to see what they could share with me. The lovely man told me it was ordered from someone's personal account. But that it could be one of two things;
- The label was misprinted when packaging and my details have been printed out instead of the person intended for
- The person has sent it and is meant for me.
The man said he would launch an internal investigation with Amazon to try and find out why and when it was ordered and what relationship the person has to me. I doubt I will hear any information back and whether the person will willingly give it. I understand confidentiality and what rights people have.
I should hear within 3-5 days about what to do with the product. Either dispose or it will be collected.
The way the man was speaking to me it is as if he thinks someone has sent it to me on purpose.
The only reason someone would send it to me is to offend me. And now it's bothering me as to who sent it.
Has anyone else experienced this and what happened? Did Amazon ever find out and give you information?
Thanks
