Has anyone done an A Level as a mature student?

I'm just wondering how it works.

I have A Levels and a degree, but my line of work is Economics. I'm not going to go back and do a degree in Economics but would like to do the A Level. Partly for fun, partly to challenge myself.

What is the process? I would self teach so essentially just need to register for the exam and find somewhere to sit it. I can't figure out how though or the best route?

Thanks :)

Go to the nearest secondary school or sixth form college and ask them to enrol to sit the exam there.

There are many online courses but really, as you have experience, just download lots of exam papers and the mark scheme and get practice that way.

Making sure of course that you’re downloading from the same exam board.

Good luck OP it sounds like a great idea 😊

Google local exam centres.

I did Sociology A'level 2 afternoons each week at a local technical college, long after Id done my degree. I was in a class of students who were very much younger than me but I enjoyed that aspect of it - we did a lot of group work & it was fun & interesting to work with them. Sadly where I live now there arent any colleges that Ive found that offer "stand alone" A'levels; they all require students to enroll on 3 A'levels and attend full time.

thanks. I've emailed my old school to sit as a private student. It's the same as a home school child would sit is my understanding. I've ordered the textbooks and I'm ready to teach myself.

DH and I are doing it to see who gets a better grade. Never knew my life would be so dull :D
