It’s National introvert week apparently and this made me wonder - do you see yourself as an introvert? Does being introverted affect you at work and home?
I definitely am - I joined a graduate scheme after university which included weeks of training where we would spend 12-14 hours days together with our group, then be expected to socialise and I nearly went off my head with the lack of time alone! That’s where I found my limits. I also had to learn to navigate meetings and speak up in them as an introvert, that was really hard too. Outside of work my main struggle is when I visit my mum and get hawked round family gatherings, often big ones, often with people I haven’t seen in years, for days at a time - it’s exhausting and I’ve learnt to be really firm in setting boundaries of how many I go to while there.
Just interested to hear other people’s experiences?
