IKEA order time - hit me with your suggestions

I'm about to place an IKEA order, with a view to Marie Kondo the shit out of our house, so would love your suggestions for little things that are useful.

I posted ages ago and got excellent suggestions - e.g. I bought a Socktopus, clips, weaning food containers, Variera boxes - but I'm sure there are more. Thank you!

Skubb drawer organisers. We have them in the underwear drawers and in a couple of the kitchen drawers to group small items.

northlondon1 · 17/03/2021 10:49

Yes! We have Skubb already Smile

Off point so sorry 😞
I have been googling Ikea hacks this week and also looking in pinterest for ikea furniture. The ideas and transformations are amazing. I've been down a right rabbit hole and wish I needed bookcases and coffee tables!!

Dimpla bags. Perfect for clothes, duvets, garden cushions. We have shedlands of them on top of wardrobes, under beds, hanging on hooks in the garage. Knalla looks prettier.

Jall tabletop ironing board.

Bevara clips.

NYSKÖLJD drying mats. For the stuff that comes out of the dishwasher still wet.

Samla boxes are a bargain.

Peacemaking as I haveca similar project! 🙂

starsinyourpies · 17/03/2021 11:52

Ooh exciting as I need to do similar, project bathroom sort out is GO!

So far in my basket I have the Godmorgen box set and Kuggis boxes.

MyAnacondaMight · 17/03/2021 11:57

I like the STUK boxes with compartments. Like SKUBB, but differently sized - I use them as baskets on shelves that would otherwise be chaotic, or where SKUBB doesn’t fit.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/03/2021 12:00

We have the big Skubb boxes under the bed for thick jumpers, out of season clothes, pyjamas etc. Really easy to pull out as needed.

Younger DD has a spice rack mounted by her bed for books, water bottle etc as she's on the top bunk.

northlondon1 · 17/03/2021 12:53

The socktopus I referred to is called Pressa by the way. I also love the Variera self inserts, if you're short on cupboard space. Observator clip on basket is great too. (Can you tell I live in central London and have zero storage space?)

Thanks lentil, but I'm happy to buy IKEA pieces. The things I've bought from there have been perfectly good quality Smile now not another peep out of you unless you have suggestions for what to buy.

@northlondon1 I loved my socktopus so much it now has a twin! I love it when they twirl on the washing line. I am a sad case.

northlondon1 · 17/03/2021 14:11

Stars, I was just thinking whether I needed another Socktopus! I also love the blue laundry basket in the same series. My daughters use it as a boat when it's not got laundry in it...

I am very good at buying Ikea solutions for stuff and storage solutions - but really you should focus on the getting rid of stuff part first...

northlondon1 · 17/03/2021 14:26

I honestly don't have loads of stuff. We don't buy a lot and we don't hoard. But there are things that are out that I'd like to tidy away. Hence looking for neat storage solutions.

Placed my order! I am also excited for these laundry bags which I will have to go into store and buy when they open.
