My lovely DP has had a horrible time recently. Details would be outing but suffice to say he’s exhausted and been working non stop. He’s had to work away the last 2 week and he is coming back on Saturday lunchtime. I want to make sure he has a relaxing and enjoyable weekend but I suddenly feel lots of pressure! We’ve only been together 10 months.

The main thing I want to get right is food! Obviously we will watch a nice film and maybe go for a walk. I will get some wine in that he likes.

Maybe that’s all I need to do but if there’s any nice ideas out there I’d love to hear them!

What a lovely idea! Put yourself in his shoes, if he’s tired think of he may just want space &!to mostly chill & recharge?maybe after a kiss & hug a long bath on his own perhaps & a bit of quiet. Can you relax too and order a favourite “ upmarket” meal to be delivered in, so you don’t have to rush about & the house can be relaxed? That way you can just be together

I recently did an indoor picnic style thing for dh, picnic food in the actual hamper that basically hasn't been used for a year now! Wine and some cheesy movies to watch

Well, depends on his character. My DP absolutely hates fuss, but would be happy if he didn't have to think about anything mundane once he was home (housework, laundry, preparing food).

At that stage in our relationship it would have been: wine, nice meal, massage, sex, sleep, watch a film.

A magazine and muscle soak for the bath!
