Egg retrieval tips needed

Hi I’m having an egg retrieval tomorrow; I’ll be freezing the resulting eggs (no Ivf Or transfer being done at this time) so I just need to know what egg retrieval itself is like.
Painful? Difficult? Anything at all you’d recommend? Any packing recommendations?
I’m sorry, I’m just nervous and any experiences and assistance will do. Smile

I’ve had two egg retrievals. Honestly it’s not as bad as you might be imagining. Are you having sedation or GA? Mine were both under sedation and the 2nd one I had pretty bad OHSS (was hospitalised a week later) so because there were so many eggs, that one was more painful when I woke up. I asked for pain relief as soon as I opened my eyes and whatever they gave me did the trick. I don’t remember feeling uncomfortable once I was home. I’d say make sure you have paracetamol, hot water bottle, chocolate and somewhere comfy to relax for a day or two after.
Good luck, I hope it goes well for you Smile

I’ve had lots of egg retrievals, 8 in total. I’ve had them under GA and under sedation and all were fine. I grew to love them, as it signalled the point when I could relax a bit after the gruelling swimming stage Grin
Take it easy afterwards and look after yourself. Keep drinking plenty of water if you can. Best of luck for tomorrow.
