Home office chair that's not so much like an office chair?

Like many of us, I'm working a lot from home now, and having made do with an ugly and not very comfortable cheap office chair, I'm on the look out for something that I can sit on all day without getting a numb bum and bad back, and that looks good, as my desk is downstairs in my main living area.
I'm a bit bogged down with ideas and possibilities, so thought I'd ask for your ideas and recommendations on this, and links to decent chairs that you have bought. Thanks

lurking as it's what i've been looking for too

We got a couple of grey padded ones from Cotswold company for our office and one of the DCs have the same one in their room. I've not sat on it for more than an hour but DH has for months now and I've heard no complaints.

Lurking!!

I've got one of these kneeling chairs.

It doesn't look super stylish or anything, but it's small and light enough that it can be put away easily or slid right under the desk.

And it's done absolute wonders for my back and neck.

Thanks, that's along the lines of what I'm thinking of, but I think I need arm rests of some kind. Looks good though

I bought mine from Sklum and I love it. It sits at our dining table and blends in very well with our other furniture

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 16/03/2021 23:16

search eBay - with offices closing down, there are occasional bargains.
I bought one for £30 that was c. £350 new that had hardly been used.
There are also used argos chairs that bizarrely seem to sell for almost as much as they cost new - check the make and model & read reviews.

I had a look at Sklum ones, but it looks like they come from Europe so didn't want to get stung with extra import costs, was delivery ok for you with this?

I started off with a non-officey one, but it really wasn't great for my back.

work paid for everyone to buy a chair when lockdown started, and line manager said to charge this second one - but I'm hanging on to it Grin

I second that chair. I have it in cream and despite being relatively inexpensive it's withstood me and my substantial derriere wfh for months very well and looks really nice.

I couldn't have one without wheels so it's good for that too.

I have this one: www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/alefjaell-office-chair-grann-golden-brown-00419984/ I've had it for about 10 months now and haven't had any back problems from it.
