Venlafaxine constipation misery

Does it subside at all? I've added a fibre supplement in, drinking lots, and as a last ditch attempt, had a swig of lactulose. Nothing except wind, so much wind. Really sluggish and bloated. Passing tiny rabbit-poos maybe every few days. Is driving me mad!

Too much fibre?

I has this for about 6 months when first taking venlafaxine, it was dreadful and I ended up with a really painful anal fissure. The only thing that seemed to help was senakot every day. I wouldn't recommend anything like fibogel, as for me it just caused gigantic poos that were agonising.

Now I have ibs and am completely the other way. No idea if it's related, but pre venlafaxine I never had these issues.

I would try Dulcoease. It'll take a few days to kick in, but it softens your poo. I've found it very helpful - not Venlafaxine related, but chronic constipation and fissures. Also magnesium tablets, I think it's magnesium citrate that helps.
