Usually they leave the grey card (3 weeks late), never before I got a text? Seems too efficient Grin
Plus don’t think I ordered anything from EU or US recently
Hmm

Is this legit?! Royal Mail text.

The scams are so good these days - if I'm not sure I go onto what I know is the Royal Mail site to check or compare the link to old Royal Mail links I've had.

piglet81 · 16/03/2021 11:15

Loads of these scams doing the rounds at the moment. I’ve had three texts like that in the past week!

Scam

ZombeaArthur · 16/03/2021 11:16

My Mum had that one last week,
I agree it looked very authentic. Luckily she called me and I convinced her to ignore it.

TokyoSushi · 16/03/2021 11:16

I have had this twice in the last week! Yes, as others have said, it's a scam.

Scarby9 · 16/03/2021 11:17

Scam. I got the same one yesterday, although for £2.99, and i know the Royal Mail does not have my mobile number. Why would it?

user127819 · 16/03/2021 11:19

Yep, scam. They would always leave a card because that's how you pay the fee. You go directly to the Royal Mail website, put in the reference number on the card and pay. No need to click links in emails or texts.

vodkaredbullgirl · 16/03/2021 11:19

Scam had 2 so far, both blocked.

GiantKitten · 16/03/2021 11:19

@DrinkFeckArseGirls please report it to Action Fraud Smile

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 16/03/2021 11:21

Lucky you, they want £2.99 from me. 4 times so far! They do look authentic BUT stop to think how they'd have your contact details & why they'd bother with this?

harknesswitch · 16/03/2021 11:27

It's a scam, I reported it and they confirmed

GreenSlide · 16/03/2021 11:33

Royal Mail do send texts sometimes but never from a random number, your phone will recognise it as Royal Mail. If it starts with RoyalMail: your item has not been delivered or whatever then it's not them.

GreenSlide · 16/03/2021 11:34

Here's a legit one from Royal Mail to show what I mean.

It's a nasty scam as they, after you've filled in your details ring you up 'from your bank' saying your account has been compromised and they need the codes to transfer your money to a safe account.

MrsMariaReynolds · 16/03/2021 17:10

I just got that exact message last night. Have to admit it did give me pause as I'm expecting a parcel from abroad at the moment. I soon realised that neither Royal Mail nor the sender have a clue what my mobile number is.

Thanks for the Spam reporting link!
