Garmin or Fitbit?

I have an Apple Watch which I love but the battery life is driving me crackers now and I have to charge it daily.
So I'm looking to replace it in the near future. I'm trying decide between garmin vivo and Fitbit versa 3.

The main excerise I do is walking although I will probably start swimming once the pools open.
So does anyone have any experience of either of these watches? And would you recommend?

Garmin 1000% percent. More accurate GPS although I don't know about that model.

Garmin! My fitbit died after 18 months and after a lot of googling I believe this is a planned tactic so that you replace them! I am also pretty reassured in the quality and accuracy of Garmin from.friends.

Garmin. Without a doubt. I switched from Fitbit to Garmin years ago - I can't remember why now, but I have never regretted it.

But double check the model you want has swimming - not all of them do.

I have the Versa 3 (and before that the versa 2) and really like it. I do some light running and walking, but no swimming. Battery life 4 days for me. I hear you about the Apple Watch. I ended up hating it due to battery life. When they get 3 days I’ll check it out again.

Friends of mine who do more serious running love Garmin.

I have a Garmin, pretty basic model though for pretty basic running. Had it about 3 years and I charge it maybe twice a week depending on how much I've been using the gps.
I chose Garmin over Fitbit because I thought Garmin made me sound more like a serious athlete.

I am no swimmer, so maybe my terrifically slow length times confuse it, but the handful of times I've swam with my Garmin (vivoactive) it's not been remotely accurate. Love it apart from that but if you're wanting to track lots of swimming in the future I'd look for reviews that mention that specifically?

I have a Fitbit, DH has a Garmin. DHs is the better gadget by far; much better app, too.

However, it is ugly, and there is no way to replace the plastic strap when it breaks, (and DHs is on the way out!) This is a big flaw in an expensive watch. They may have improved in looks and maintenance since he got his, perhaps.

My Fitbit has loads of straps and is prettier generally, but Garmin is better for being seriously sporty with.
