Help me remember the title of this book!

Set in somewhere snowy (maybe Alaska)
A mother and daughter travel across ice roads in a big lorry ( like ice road truckers). I think the little girl is deaf. They're trying to find her husband. Someone is trying to kill them maybe?! I read it years ago in one sitting but now can't remember the title at all!

Was it a Jodi Picoult? It seems familiar.
