DS is in year 1 having gone back to school only last week. He’s normally a friendly, sociable child who has somewhat struggled to find his place in his year group. He says the group of alpha boys typically don’t let him join their games. DS has a softer nature happier with his Lego, building etc. There are couple of girls who he’s close to but has said they haven’t played with him either since schools started. His teachers have always said he’s very social ,mixing with varied kids and doesn’t restrict himself to groups. Pre lockdown there were couple of parties he wasn’t invited to, with kids we’ve had play dates with. I’m a working parent so struggle with play dates but am ok to make an effort when restrictions ease. Has anyone experienced this and how can I help if at all?

There’s a great book called the Friendship Maze - I’ve found it invaluable
