I have seen escape goat often

sweatervest · 15/03/2021 20:26

Pebbledashery · 15/03/2021 20:28

Worst one I've seen is Chestowdraw when I was a student looking for a room in a house share. Never forgot it.

KeyboardWorriers · 15/03/2021 20:28

Admittedly she's only 6 but my daughter decided to sneak a few extra items on to the shopping list on the blackboard... I can't bear to wipe away her request for a "tub of ass cream"

@oakleaffy

Antique rocking horses are my ''Thing'', and the Ebay /Farcebook dealers write such nonsense sometimes:

''She is a sort after horse with reigns and saddle in tact''.

{She is a sought after horse with reins and saddle intact}

A child once wrote about his pets and used the 'word' yrntn. When I asked him to 'tell me about your pet' he said he he kept his pet in a cage made of wire netting, that was his yrntn!
Muddledupme · 15/03/2021 20:30

There's a chubby shik cubbad for sale near me

sweatervest · 15/03/2021 20:31

oooh and there was that girl that went viral with "barackko barner". it's somewhere on the internet although god knows where.

sweatervest · 15/03/2021 20:33

baracco barner is on the internet but i can only find it via the daily mail and i wouldn't want to post a link to such utter bilge that is the dm.

hansgrueber · 15/03/2021 20:33

@EsmaCannonball

I love when some bloke is ranting about some woman in the public eye online and he accuses her of being a pre-Madonna. Always love that one.
A comment on her age maybe??
mathanxiety · 15/03/2021 20:34

One of my DDs (aged 5 or 6) once composed a journal entry for homework. The topic was 'Things we love at home'.

Among other things, DD liked the smell of popery in the dining room.

This caused a raised eyebrow in her RC school.

oakleaffy · 15/03/2021 20:37

@gildalilly

Mine isn't a household item but you might be interested in one or two of these bargain priced thinbuls.
Thinbuls.

@DodoApplet

For a wonderful lexicon from Down Under, thumb through a copy of "Let Stalk Strine" by the well-known pseudonym Afferbeck Lauder (which I confess I didn't manage to interpret correctly for ages). Here you'll discover that an "egg nishner" is an Australian device for cooling the room during a heatwave, "egg jelly" is a colloquialism meaning "in reality", and "airman" is the meat component of an airman pickle sandwich. Unfortunately I lost my copy years ago, but I see it's still available on Amazon: ]]
I think they were quite in vogue when I was much younger, I recall having a copy of Lern yerself Scouse.#

God it wasn't £12 .20 then either!

thebabessavedme · 15/03/2021 20:42

I used to listen to primary school readers and generally help out - a classic question one day - 'please miss, how do you spell 'gnu'?, tell me how you want to use it sweetie? 'I'm gnu play on my bike later' Grin

champagneplanet · 15/03/2021 20:44

If you want to sell something for £3k at least spell it properly Anthony P...

Ylvamoon · 15/03/2021 20:47

😂😂😂

I leave you with "Square Word".

LockdownIsDragging · 15/03/2021 20:49

Now do I nominate this thread for classics?

hansgrueber · 15/03/2021 20:51

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit

Yanettin is wire netting apparently.
No, wire netting is yrntn!
NomDePrune · 15/03/2021 20:53

WeeFae · 15/03/2021 20:55

Staffy1 · 15/03/2021 20:55

Yorkshire terror
Grin love it!
I'm pleasantly surprised there are none of the usual comments calling everyone snobs and scum of the earth for finding these things funny.

GaryUnicorn · 15/03/2021 20:56

Ah yes, the Bonkette...
