Should I keep this bike?

Bike for a very tall 10yo. I bought a frog 73. Manufacturers sizing is minimum 73cm inside leg. Ds is 73.5cm. Should have been perfect. I rang the shop and they advised me to order this size. I've got it and it fits ok now but I've had to put the seat up a lot and its clear hes not going to get much more than 18months out of it depending on how he grows (maybe less, he's always growing!).

My friend tells me I need a small adult frame 27.5 wheeled MTB.

Its suuuch a PITA to send back. I'll lose the money I spent on assembly. Ds loves it right now. I have another child who will get more use out of it in 3 years time probably. Theoretically I could ride it. It fits me. Resale value is high if we look after it.

Should I spare myself the hassle of posting it back?

I need bike people to advise me. I'm not into bikes. We just ride easy trails nearby and on roads to parks etc.

Thanks I'm doing my head in...

To be honest, the way kids grow I think 18 months is pretty standard. He's 10....he's going to have many, many upshoots before he hits 18. You'd be very lucky to get two years out of a bike.

Just look after it well and then sell it when he grows.

Maybe it's only a year then. Way I see it is I'm going to be in the market for a frog 73 at some point for ds2 so may as well keep it now I've got it and paid to assemble.

Ds has just asked me to exchange it for the 78 (still 26" wheels bigger frame).
