Would you expect an almost 15m old to recognise this animal?

Just want to know if DD is a genius ;) or just '"normal".DD is 15m in a few days.

She saw it (having never seen it before) and said "lion" (or rather, "rarrr", the noise she makes for lion) and when she had 3 cups straight after (1 lion, 1 zebra, 1 monkey) I asked where the lion was, and she pointed it out.

Would you expect an almost 15m old to recognise this animal?

Normal

Yes it's normal for them to recognise animals. The chances are at 15 months they will recognise a cartoon lion before an actual lion as they are exposed to cartoon animals more so than real ones. Unless you have a lion in the garden.

Normal!

MissRainbowBrite · 14/03/2021 15:32

Pretty normal, at that age DD could point out a around 10-20 different animals and make the sounds of quite a few.

Sansaplans · 14/03/2021 15:32

I wouldn't say unusual, lion was actually one of the first things DS learnt.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 14/03/2021 15:33

Yes normal. My 13m spots lions and dinosaurs in different formats (toy, photo, book) and roars. She also growls for dogs and makes the kissing noise to call a cat when she spots those. It’s nice you’re proud though. ☺️ All mum’s should think their babies are special!

I think she sounds very bright.

LApprentiSorcier · 14/03/2021 15:34

What is it?

AliceTheCamelHasFiveHumps · 14/03/2021 15:50

Phew, thanks!
