After being on MN for 10yrs plus ( name changes along the way ) I have seen some of the misconceptions that some of the general public have about the role of the father & the effect on the mother. My DC are now adult , I'm heading for 50, but honestly some very young men seem to have absorbed some startlingly old fashioned ideas.
So, firstly, you cant babysit your own children. Its impossible. They are YOUR children. You PARENT your own, you babysit other people's children.
Babys can be hard work. Do half of it. Your partner is also a human who needs to eat, sleep, wash ect.
Working outside of the home does not equate to bringing up young children 24/7. I know this as I have done both.
I'm sure more will come to me during the day, but please feel free to add on ......
