Most young people/teenagers seem to take off their shoes without untying the bow. Do you see that as well and why do they do that?

Because modern shoes have stretch and form that allow this to be possible?

BorisandHarriet · 14/03/2021 06:48

Because they are lazy?

SunsetGirl · 14/03/2021 06:54

I do this with my trainers because I can. I can't do it with my ankle boots though so I don't. I am 42.

FlyNow · 14/03/2021 06:57

I'm not young but I do this. Can't be bothered to untie or retie the laces I guess.

ChameleonClara · 14/03/2021 06:58

I do this too, it is because it is faster. This is a slightly odd question as this is definitely not a new phenomenon.

sittingonacornflake · 14/03/2021 06:59

I'm 32 so not quite young as you're saying but I do this because it's more efficient

kowari · 14/03/2021 06:59

I do it with trainers myself, they stretch, it's quicker and I hate accidentally trying them too tight. With boots I just hook and unhook the laces.

theconstantinoplegardener · 14/03/2021 06:59

I do this too! I'm 45. It's a bad habit because I have to untie the bows to get my shoes on again when I next go out, and I'm always in a hurry, so it slows me down unnecessarily. I'm not sure why I do it!

miserablecat · 14/03/2021 07:14

I often do this although I tell my kids not toBlush

MumofPsuedoAdult · 14/03/2021 07:16

YES!! My teen DS does this and it drives me mad. The result? all his socks are worn at the back of the heel.

Whatalottachocca · 14/03/2021 07:58

I do it with trainers. It’s a bit of a non-issue for me. So what?

Winterfellismyhome · 14/03/2021 08:03

Im 29 and i do this too. Only to take them off. I undo the laces to put them back on. Its just a habit

Changemaname1 · 14/03/2021 08:09

I’m in my 30s and do this with trainers . But then I don’t really have a bow I tuck my laces in

Wobblesandchickuns · 14/03/2021 08:11

I'm in my 30s and do this. Probably because it's not trendy to have the laces done up above the tongue and so to keep untying them and retying them under the tongue is a pain in the arse.

autumnboys · 14/03/2021 08:14

My tween and teens do this, BUT, they have to untie the laces to get the shoes back on. So o don’t really understand it, as they’re putting off the job until they’re more likely to be in a rush. I’ve given up pointing this out to them though, not the hill I want to die on.

ShaunaTheSheep · 14/03/2021 08:15

Er, because they can? Non issue.

Bagelsandbrie · 14/03/2021 08:15

I am 40 and I do this. It’s quicker.

changingnames786 · 14/03/2021 08:16

I've been doing this since I've been expected to do my own shoe laces, when the shoe allows...that's a long time btw...

SchoolMarks · 14/03/2021 08:30

I'm 40 and have been doing that since I was a young person/teenager. It's nothing new!
