This is a major excursion Grin

Anything you'd particularly recommend?

Their lemon and lime drizzle cake is gorgeous.

I'm including a link to it, because I never ever want it to be discontinued.

My family bought this for my birthday last week. It should never, e ever be discontinued

Butterscotch & pecan yum yums

They sound incredible...

I'm most looking forward to the bath and household products from your recommendations so far!

I do most of my grocery shopping in Waitrose.
The essential baked beans are fantastic - so much nicer than Heinz and very cheap. Likewise their ketchup.

Cherry and almond lattice is delicious.

The £10 Thai dinner in a bag is fantastic quality. I'm not normally a ready meal fan but the Thai is really good. Chinese is not great but the Indian is quite nice too.

Most of the Waitrose own brands are pretty good though.

Coldbatteredpuddings · 13/03/2021 19:53

Prawn pizza - sounds awful but actually delicious.

I was going to ask about the ready meals so that's good to know. I quite like one on a Sunday night.

The Waitrose 1 ice cream.
Eat it in the bath if you wish.

flexx · 13/03/2021 19:56

Oh yes those yum yums are delicious - me and another woman at work share a pack quite often!

I do an outing to Waitrose from time to time. There was a woman there methodically working her way down all the shower gels, pulling her mask down a bit, sniffing each one, mask up, then on to the next one. It was obviously her exciting day out as well Grin

You get lovely amaretti biscuits at Waitrose, they're perfect with a coffee and you get loads in the packet.

Ragwort · 13/03/2021 19:57

I really don't think it will be open at 8am on a Sunday ! (Are you in England?).

I went today .... massive queue of at least 50 people waiting to get into the shop (4pm) ... I gave up and had to go to Tesco.

crumbsinthejam · 13/03/2021 19:59

I had a Waitrose card years ago but haven't a clue where on earth it is.

MorePotatoSalad · 13/03/2021 20:12

They do Charlie Bighams and I saw a new one - macaroni and cauliflower cheese.

Other good ready meals, the lamb rogan josh is good, sourdough pizzas.

MorePotatoSalad · 13/03/2021 20:13

Oh haha (my user name) -yoghurt dressed potato salad.

Heyha · 13/03/2021 20:19

My birthday is coming up and I'm starting to think I might ask for Waitrose vouchers (if there is such a thing). I'm no food shoppimg fan normally but this all sounds divine!

BEANBAG765 · 13/03/2021 20:19

Meh, I went to Waitrose for dill and ended spending £100.
Felt like money well spent!

hotchocdrinker · 13/03/2021 20:23

Some people have already mentioned some of my favourites, which are: essential baked beans (the sauce is nice and thick), hoisin sauce in a jar, the Indian and Thai ready meals (I agree with a previous poster that the Chinese meals aren't as good), charbonnel and Walker hot chocolate, Waitrose No 1 chocolate with feuilletine and sea salt (my favourite chocolate in the whole world), and definitely pink grapefruit shower gel. It's only 90p!

colliewobble · 13/03/2021 20:23

Has to be their No1 mixed berry Italian nougat (on offer at £2.40) as nibbles to have with their Prosecco (also on offer). Great way to start a Saturday night.

TalktotheFoot · 13/03/2021 20:26

I got vouchers from work as a Christmas bonus one year. It was fab.
WellTidy · 13/03/2021 20:31

Essentials tiramisu - the big one, not the small pots (super cheap and so so good)

Essentials hand wash - they’re all nice but the chamomile one and the sea moss are my favourites

Essentials shower gel and bath foam - as above, but I absolutely love the pink grapefruit too

Waitrose own brand bath foam - they’re all absolutely lovely but the fig and sandalwood is really nice

Essentials biscuits for cheese

Their own brand Welsh cakes (serve with butter) are by far the best shop bought ones I’ve ever tried

Their own brand dried cranberries are cheaper than Sainsbury’s and way juicer

Own brand sweet potato falafels and own brand Moroccan houmous are to die for

Favouriteworstnightmare · 13/03/2021 23:28

No. 1 Salted Caramel Sauce!

Our nearest is 20 miles away, damn the Welsh stay local rules saving my £££ DaffodilGrin
