Which supermarket or brand does the best fries?

I want some really good fries but don't want takeaway. I have waitrose, M&S and Sainsburys at my disposal.
I appreciate your recommendations.

McCain’s triple cooked gastro chips. I dislike all the other oven chips out there!

ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn · 13/03/2021 10:44

M&S frites from the chiller section are the nicest.

CherieBabySpliffUp · 13/03/2021 10:45

I agree with @Ro198 McCain's triple cooked chips are good. I have a bag of Aldi own brand version in my freezer as they were recommended on a similar thread but I haven't opened them yet.

These chips from Aldi are the business. Clearly not healthy but who cares when you want chips you might as well have the very best Smile

Much nicer and cheaper to make your own IMO. I've yet to find a satisfactory oven chip.

Definitely those Aldi beef dripping fries. Aldi also do a bag in the pasta / ready meal fridge section, of chipper chips. They taste like you just went to a local chipper.

Aldi skin on fries all the way here!

We love homemade chips with Maris piper potatoes in the air fryer

Naked fries or Iceland ridiculously crispy.

The mcain triple chips used to be lovely but they’ve changed them somehow and they now make me heave.

doadeer · 13/03/2021 11:19

We love the m&s thick triple cooked chips. They aren't fries but they are excellent

TeaMeBasil · 13/03/2021 11:21

If you have a coop nearby they actually do great unfrozen ones (usually near their fruit & veg) and they turn out far better than the frozen ones for some reason!

None, home made are best.
