Morning all! What are you up to today?

I'm enjoying the silence while I drink my first cup of tea of the day. I think it'll last a while too! Both girls had a late one last night so are still sleeping.

We've not got much planned. I think the girls are going for a walk to Nanna's with their dad later on, to drop off her Mother's Day card and some flowers on the doorstep. Bit rubbish but at least they'll get to see each other from a distance.

There's an overflowing basket of washing to tackle, and last night's pots too so I'll tackle them while it's still quiet.

I expect both girls will flake after their walk so plan to carry on making the little crochet teddy I've been making. Just his arms, legs, and one ear to make. Then I can put him together.

Sweet chilli beef for tea tonight, I think, with a glass or two of wine for me.

What about all of you? :)

Getting my vaccine today.....hopefully no nasty side effects

Mojitomumma · 13/03/2021 09:46

Me too Tequila

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 13/03/2021 09:47

Me too.

I wanted to do some gardening but it has rained loads this week so cannot cut the grass and the wind is still crazy, so don't want to hang out in that while weeding.

So cleaning, washing, some work. Maybe a zoom with friends later. And I am determined that I WILL LEARN to cast off. I can knit rows, but cannot cast off. I have wool sitting in a drawer that is being donated if I cannot figure this out - and I really want to figure it out! I want to make a patchwork blanket for me.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 13/03/2021 09:48

It’s exciting because it’s like a day out!😁

KurtWilde · 13/03/2021 10:03

Still in bed because DC are asleep and nothing is required of me yet! I popped down to let the dogs out while I made a coffee then legged it back under the duvet. It's blowing a gale in my neck of the woods. Yuk.

When everyone's up and about and the dogs have had a decent walk, we're going to see my eldest DD (bubbled) for a chat and some early Mother's Day choccies. She's 35 weeks with her first baby and has had a horrible time throughout with constant sickness, migraines and sciatica - plus she's had to continue to work in a forward facing role despite both midwife and consultant saying her employer should either have furloughed her or offered her alternative duties. Grr. I've got a few bits for baby and a mum to be present, so we can take them along.

Takeaway this evening, and probably a film if the brood can agree on one Hmm

Going for a cycle with a friend this morning, and prob stop for coffee if we find anywhere open. It's a beautiful morning here! We'll have fajitas later and watch a movie. I'll have wine, obvs.

AllotmentTime · 13/03/2021 10:09

DH has gone out to buy Mother’s Day bits. Hopefully chocolate.

The DC are on the five millionth Paw Patrol (they’re really too old for Paw Patrol Hmm)

I am lazing around with a cuppa

MIL is in her room.

Plans for the day:
Try to convince DS that he will enjoy playing an actual board game (or similar) instead of playing pretend dinosaur games which bore the rest of us to tears.
Get DD to finish thank you letters/do some music practice/do her homework/tidy up a bit. Not all of these, but 5 minutes spent on any one would do. Said 5 minutes will be preceded by 20 minutes of whining though.
Continue to wash/wipe everything in sight, as DS has given us worms Envy

Averyslover · 13/03/2021 10:44

Two teenagers in bed. One has had to do something for work and has called me asking for a budget as he will do the weeks food shopping. He’s very sensible so I have no worries. Thankful that I don’t have to do it later.

Dh has nipped to town to collect something and I’m in silence. It’s lovely. Washing on, housework done and I’ve just put the bread maker on. I’m pottering around watering plants and faffing.

I want to plant some seeds today and do some sewing. Oh and try and get some yoga in.

I can’t wait for lockdown to end but I’m making the most of the weekends before football, rugby, swimming, lifts, visiting starts again.

Alfaix · 13/03/2021 10:50

DS is doing an entrance exam.
Dropped him off, collected Asda order now having a soak in the bath before picking him up. We’ve promised him a McDonalds drive thru.
Curry for tea. DH watching rugby and DS and I will watch a film and do some lego.

legosnowqueen · 13/03/2021 11:25

Up early & out for a dog walk with Legopup & a friend with her more mature dog - very wet but a good learning experience for Legopup. Now catching up with the newspapers with a coffee. Feeling very sad about poor Sarah Everard & will join a local tribute (not vigil as such) this evening. DS was poorly yesterday so missed school but is better today & has an online drama class, otherwise is relaxing today. DH is working. Planning burger & chips for tea, then will watch something together on Netflix when Legopup has settled. Love Saturdays!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 13/03/2021 11:28

Hello you all,
I booked DH a slot in our local DIY shop (they re-opened for private customers, up till now they were open only for professionals) to get things to fix our leaking washing machine.
I rest my foot after the OP and do a bit of admin. DD has started on one of the papers she has to write and DS ist still doing nothing but reading and gameing.

DioneTheDiabolist · 13/03/2021 11:37

I have a stinking cold🤧 coming so today it's a race against time to clean my house and sort food before it properly hits. I'm cooking a roast.🤦‍♀️

wendz86 · 13/03/2021 11:40

Kids are at their dads till later. I have cleaned bathroom and cleaned out fish tank . Heading out on a walk shortly although it’s a bit windy out there .

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 13/03/2021 11:42

I've just finished my fourth cup of tea. DH is putting some laundry on, then I'm going to go and make some choux pastry. DS1 is gaming and I actually have a sneaking suspicion that DS2 has gone back to bed Hmm

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 13/03/2021 11:46

Took my 20 month old DS to the beach park this morning at about 8am. Very windy but it gets busy there so we went early. Thought I'd try the shops as it was early and they were rammed!

Thislittlekitten · 13/03/2021 11:50

Love these threads from @lucysmam

Lazy morning here so far. DH and DD going to shops soon for Mother’s Day treats for tomorrow.
Me and DS might go to park and then do lego.
Little DCat is annoying Big DCat. 🙄

Take away curry planned for tonight and Harry Potter movie with DD.

Chimeraforce · 13/03/2021 11:58

Superstardjs
Try sheep and stitch on you tube for casting off tutorial. I'm a beginner but she's great.
We'll go for a walk in the howling wind, nose around b and m, I'll Unload a wash. I've to finish a knitted block character for DD (can't knit curves yet).
I've messaged a hot tub hire company about prices as a suprise for Mr birthday.
