Now and again I see houses that are unusual on here, I think this one would fit in.

Wow that’s nuts, I absolutely love it, especially all the original flooring throughout

Bet the cellar is haunted though

VeniVidiWeeWee · 12/03/2021 22:33

I realise this is in Wales but the sentiment remains:

"From the towns all Inns have been driven: from the villages most.... Change your hearts or you will lose your Inns and you will deserve to have lost them. But when you have lost your Inns drown your empty selves, for you will have lost the last of England."

That's so lovely.

justasking111 · 12/03/2021 22:45

Ah that is lovely and so true.

That’s so sad. Too many pubs being converted to houses, often against the wishes of the local community.

Londonmummy66 · 12/03/2021 22:53

Whoever buys that will need an awful lot of white paint.

Barmbraic · 12/03/2021 22:55

Whats the difference between a cellar and a basement? Confused

en0la · 12/03/2021 22:57

It's beautiful, I wouldn't even need to change the colours. It's a shame it's in such a bad position on the road though.

Unfortunately they probably don't provide enough custom to keep them going.
OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/03/2021 23:05

It's sad that it isn't a pub, but look at those floors! Shock
I too am puzzled about the difference between a cellar and a basement but I'd happily take both.

I do love a good floor plan.

I’ve seen a lot of these conversions and often someone buys a pub because it’s cheaper than a house, then applies for planning to convert it, even though it was a popular pub and local people object strenuously. These fights and appeals can last for years.

Cellars are below ground level. A basement is below the main entrance floor. So, if your front door is on the first floor up some steps, the ground floor - although above ground - is technically a "basement".
Barmbraic · 13/03/2021 00:23

Interesting, thanks FaceyRomford

MrsFin · 13/03/2021 00:40

I love it too. We are thinking of moving to Wales. 🤔

Champagneforeveryone · 13/03/2021 04:22

Dear God, if DH happened across that listing I would find him chucking stuff into boxes and rehoming the cat Grin

Haspotential · 13/03/2021 04:32

The lady of the house has incredibly big feet.

MinnieMountain · 13/03/2021 06:32

A cellar has no natural light. A basement does. We have a basement and this is what our surveyor told me. It’s all below ground level but the house has light wells built in.

FlamingGoat · 13/03/2021 06:36

I wish estate agents would stop using those bright filters in photos. They did the same to my MIL house recently. It made it look ridiculous.
Great house though.

ExponentiallyDepleted · 13/03/2021 06:58

I couldn't live with all the stuff on the walls, or the fruit machines but obviously (hopefully) the owner would take all that. I'd have to gut the kitchen and bathroom but its an amazing house for £250k.

sunnysidegold · 13/03/2021 07:18

Ok so one portrait above the daybed is Mick Jagger, the other one is Madonna - who is the third (on the left?).

picklemewalnuts · 13/03/2021 07:25

Sting?

ToffeeNotCoffee · 13/03/2021 07:27

Wow ! I love it. (Not all furniture etc is to my taste, obvs.)

picklemewalnuts · 13/03/2021 07:31

I can't work out the garden situation. There should be a former car park, but there's woodland all around it.

TheWaif · 13/03/2021 07:31

Jesus Christ, how awful. I have a headache just looking at it, let alone living there. It needs 100% complete redecoration. Given the outside is so ugly I don't think I'd bother.

BikeRunSki · 13/03/2021 07:46

I went to that pub once, about 30 years ago!
