Legoland May half term

Hi, planning a 2 night break to Legoland in May half term, does anyone have any experience of going at this time of year? We’ve only ever been on a random weekend in April, I imagine half term is much busier plus they are opening a new area for half term so i’m wondering if the reserve and ride is worth it?

Also, hotels, does has anyone stayed at the Coppid Beech, it looks a little dated but it’s around £80 cheaper than the Devere Beaumont estate where we have stayed before so wondering if it’s worth the extra for the Beaumont? Would love to stay at the Castle hotel but at almost £1100 for 2 nights it just doesn’t seem worth it for the amount of time we will be in the room!

Any other top tips would be most appreciated too!

Is the Holiday Inn at Winnersh or the Travel Lodge the other end of the A329M from Coppid Beech any cheaper (no attractions nearby) and only a few miles further off

We stayed in a self-catering apartment in Bracknell which was cheaper than any hotel we could find & allowed us to be in a separate room from the kids!

Thank you both, I’ll take a look at your suggestions.

I’ve focused on those two options so far (Coppid beech and Beaumont estate) because they have pools, kids haven’t had much opportunity to go swimming in the past year so thought that might be nice.

It's usually RAMMED during half term but with the pandemic I don't know how busy it will be. How can they socially distance etc with all the queuing and sitting close to each other?

Coppid beech is nice but nothing beats the Legoland hotel. We love it.

My experience of May half term is
No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! May halfterm is one of the worst ime as everyone thinks it won't be so busy, but will be nice weather. We went home the time we arrived and found the queue for the toilets was over 20 minutes. It was worse than when we went for the fireworks.
We had annual passes, so could afford to do that though.

The only worse day ime was a Monday inset day just after the summer halfterm, when everyone who hadn't been during halfterm because they thought it would be too busy decided to go. In that case we didn't even get to the road up, we gave up and went ice skating instead which was empty.

If however they look like they will be reducing numbers due to social distancing then it might be okay. I make no promises though. 😁

Oh no, that sounds awful. I’m wondering if the new area opening will make it better (if we avoid that area, thinking maybe the other areas might be quieter) or worse.

I can’t see on their website if they are limiting numbers, I’m hoping so, I know they did last year when they reopened but I can’t see any guidelines from the government for reopening theme parks etc.

@MrsWhites
In all fairness the last time I tried to go in halfterm must be about 15 years ago, but locally people do tend to say don't bother in half term or August.

Best time is if you have a random inset day at this time of year or just into the summer term.
