Single parents - childcare over holidays?

Hello I'm a single parent looking ahead to the easter and summer holidays and feeling really worried about how I will arrange childcare for 6yo DS.

I guess most people have the problem to some extent, but with a partner I would have split the hols between us and taken leave. That's not an option now as ex has left the country and is non contact.

  1. I'm not sure if the council holiday club will run.
  2. If it does I still feel apprehensive cos DS isnt really a mixer and might hate it
  3. My parents are worried about covid and I'm not sure when they will get second jab or if they will still think top risky.
  4. I dont know other parents so have no idea what they are doing.

Just interested to hear how other people manage it. Am I missing some obvious options?

I have savings so can pay for care (within reason I'm not in nanny terriory) but I dont know where to go.

Feel so anxious about it.
