Loads of salads i made up for work. Pasta salads, tuna, chicken, salmon salads.

Yoghurt, fruit and a chocolate biscuit for work breakfast. All mixed together.

Bamaluz · 11/03/2021 16:38

Salad with some kind of protein; eggs, chicken, sliced beef etc. Followed by yoghurt and fruit.
Throughout the winter it was more likely to be soup.

BrimfulOfBaba · 11/03/2021 16:58

At the moment it's a Vietnamese noodle salad. 1 nest wholegrain rice noodles, half a pack marinated tofu, sliced carrots, spring onion and cucumbers, mint and coriander, in a dressing of lime, sesame oil, garlic, chilli, rice vinegar and soy sauce.

If I can spare the calories, a sprinkle of roasted peanuts and some crispy onions. I can't deal with plain tasting food - if I'm going to eat less it had better be DELICIOUS!

BrimfulOfBaba · 11/03/2021 17:00

Also - chickpea salad with some manchego and lots of salad veggies. And green lentil salad with feta, roast Mediterranean veg and rocket with balsamic.

lissie123 · 11/03/2021 17:01

Lots of bloody salad, cauliflower rice with curry powder marinated chicken breast for lunch or dinner. Breakfast skinny bread dry fried egg and slice of smoked salmon or slice chicken breast with huge mug of tea. Litres of water and lots of mango bananas blueberry and satsumas for snacks. Lost two stone but sometimes I was very hungry

grassisjeweled · 11/03/2021 17:03

Eggs for breakfast
Salad /soup with lots of protein for lunch
Meat and 2 veg for dinner /BBQ and salad /casseroles.

Essentially, low carb. No junk.

KobaniDaughters · 11/03/2021 17:03

Similar to Brimful a raw Thai noodle salad with peanut dressing (don’t put in any oil) and I make salads as big as my head mainly greens (finely sliced lettuce, kale, spinach) to make them look and feel bigger with a decent amount of protein (usually chickpeas or lentils) and kimchi for flavour in place of a dressing

KobaniDaughters · 11/03/2021 17:04

Oh should add I do 5:2 so these are my fast day meals

MorePotatoSalad · 11/03/2021 17:04

Following!

KobaniDaughters · 11/03/2021 17:05

Also I’ll do a big plate of air fried veg and chickpeas doused in tahini and lemon and lots of sea salt

WellTidy · 11/03/2021 17:07

Beans on toast is my go to at the moment. Half a can of Heinz baked beans and two slices of whole meal bread toasted is 350 cals and I find it really filling.

Blimeyoreilly2020 · 11/03/2021 17:11

Large salad with home made vinaigrette for lunch and salmon fillet, veg stir fry and wholewheat noodles for supper.

ChequerBoard · 11/03/2021 17:28

I lost 10 stone, started nearly 2 years ago so have kept it off for well over a year now.

My main meals were:

Big salad made up of crunchy raw veggies (not a salad leaf fan) like cauliflower, carrot, radish, mushrooms, sugarsnap peas, cherry tomatoes with some feta cheese cubes and a serving protein, usually freshly roasted chicken breast or tuna.

Stir fried veggies (spring onion, sprouts, cauliflower, water chestnuts, mushrooms) with chicken or prawns, often with a small serving of steamed rice but not always.

Roasted veggies (carrots, butternut squash, mushrooms, leeks, shallots) chucked in a dish sprayed with fry light and some seasoning. Served with roasted chicken breast or oven baked pork tenderloin.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 11/03/2021 18:33

Mine was sort of Caesar salad. Just crunchy lettuce, chicken, bacon and Parmesan ( no dressing but bacon has enough fat really) . Really tasty low carb. Ate it for lunch everyday for 3 months and still love it.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 11/03/2021 18:35

Lost nearly two stone in those 3 months. Went from 16 to nearly a 10.

JingsMahBucket · 11/03/2021 19:28

@BrimfulOfBaba

Thanks for the green lentil salad idea. I was planning to make a tomato, red onion, and feta salad but wanted to bulk it up a bit. We have puy lentils I can cook and add to the mix.
Murtaghjames · 11/03/2021 19:34

Boiled eggs and skinny bread for breakfast
Chicken and vegetable soup for lunch
Turkey mince with mixed veg and sweet potatoe for dinner
Popcorn as a treat

mamaduckbone · 11/03/2021 19:37

Replacing carbs with loads of salad or veg in every meal - so I could still eat the same main meal as everyone else but without the pasta/rice/potatoes.
E.g meatballs with salad instead of pasta
Roast dinner with lots of veg and no roasties.

LApprentiSorcier · 11/03/2021 19:41

Another place marker seeking inspiration.

I very much default to meat and two green veg or home made soup, which works and is fine but interested in more exotic ideas that can be cooked from scratch.

MarshaBradyo · 11/03/2021 19:42

Eggs for breakfast

Smoked salmon

Aubergine or courgette based dish

Chicken and tuna salad

Low carb each day

Smarshian · 11/03/2021 19:47

Chilli and ginger salmon with stir fried veg.
Spiced skinless chicken thighs oven baked with peppers, onions, aubergine, tomatoes, any other veg you fancy. Nandos sauce on for extra spice.

Frazzlefrazle · 11/03/2021 19:48

For lunch my go to is 2 quorn fillets, half a mango, Coriander and a good squeeze of a lime. With some carrots or cucumber sticks on the side.
