14 month old fell out of highchair

Hi,

So my ds fell out of his highchair just after lunch (half an hour before his afternoon nap time). I had stepped out of the room to grab a freh nappy when he fell. My dh was in the room with him when it happened and said he didn't hit his head but I'm still worried. He fell asleep 10 mins after I changed his nappy. He seemed super cranky (he had skipped his morning nap) and so at first I thought he fell asleep because he's really tired. But then I began to feel a bit worried and spoke to HV about it and she advised me to wake him up and keep him awake. He got crankier when I did and has been throwing his toys around the room and babbling angrily. He's also ransacked the larder. He wants to sleep but the full 45 mins haven't passed. Should I wait it out or just let him sleep?

When I did a first aid course the teacher (a paramedic) said if they seem fine then it's ok for them to sleep, if they don't seem fine probably best to get help.

Let him sleep. If he seems fine generally and alert and you know he's not hit his head it seems quite cruel to keep him up when he's obviously tired.

Thank you both for your advice. I just put him down for his nap. It was breaking my heart to see him pleading with me to let him sleep. 😭
