I think I've got whooping cough for the second time in two years

Fucking hell the coughing is awful. I forgot how bad it is. I'm certain its WC.

I had covid in December, and dh and I lateral flow test every few days (he is a teacher and we have DC in primary), all negative.

I think I'm going to need bloods taken to check for WC. Will the doc insist on a PCR test before they see me?

Did they not vaccinate you after the first time if not as a child? How the heck have you ended up exposed to it twice, that's some crappy luck.

Nope. Had the vaccine when pregnant with dd 9 years ago, no vaccine offered after I caught it last time.

The coughing has eased this morning so I'll see how things go today and call for bloods if it resumes.
